The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is the 25th Australian-New Zealand library, and the first Australian government library, to support the CLOCKSS Archive.
The CLOCKSS Archive has an archive node at Australian National University (ANU). Following the example of library support by Roxanne Missingham at ANU, the other Australian & New Zealand institutions are: Auckland University of Technology, Charles Darwin University, Charles Sturt University, Curtin University, Deakin University, Flinders University, Griffith University, La Trobe University, Lincoln University, Macquarie University, Massey University, Murdoch University, Queensland University of Technology, Southern Cross University, University of Auckland, University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales, University of Otago, University of Queensland, University of Tasmania, University of Technology- Sydney, University of Western Sydney and Victoria University.
CSIRO joins over 700 supporting libraries of the CLOCKSS Archive worldwide based in Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
Thomas Girke, Information Support Manager at CSIRO, commented “CSIRO Library Services places the highest priority on delivering desktop access to information. Joining CLOCKSS will ensure preservation of our valuable online resources”.
CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds “We are pleased at the steady growth of support in Australia and New Zealand. The region has always been well represented by ANU and their board membership in CLOCKSS. In addition to the library support, a number of publishers in the region are preserving their content in the CLOCKSS Archive. We welcome CSIRO as the first Australian government library.”
