IUScholarWorks Preserves with the CLOCKSS Archive

The CLOCKSS Archive, a joint venture between the world’s leading academic publishers and research libraries, is pleased to announce that it has partnered with IUScholarWorks to preserve their ejournals in CLOCKSS’s network of redundant archive nodes. These nodes are currently located at 12 major research libraries around the world, including Indiana University, and provide secure long-term storage of digital material, ensuring that an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.

Of this development Brenda L. Johnson, Ruth Lilly Dean of Indiana University Libraries, says, “IU has been involved with the CLOCKSS Archive from the outset, in our role as one of the original 6 participating libraries and as an archival node. The addition of IUScholarWorks ejournals to the CLOCKSS Archive represents our continuing commitment to improving accessibility and strengthening long-term digital preservation, both of which are deeply connected to the Libraries’ mission to support and enhance education and research at IU.”

CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes IUScholarWorks’ ejournals into the community’s archive. By archiving with CLOCKSS, the IUScholarWorks has ensured that the scholarship in their publications will be available for a worldwide audience now and in the future in a manner that secures them for the long-term good of scholars.”

About: IUScholarWorks is a service of the IU Libraries with additional technology support from University Information Technology Services to make the work of IU scholars freely available and ensures that these resources are preserved and organized for the future. http://scholarworks.iu.edu
