NZCER Press Preserves with the CLOCKSS Archive

The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has partnered with NZCER Press (the New Zealand Council for Educational Research Press) to preserve their ejournals in CLOCKSS’s geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. By archiving with CLOCKSS, NZCER Press has committed to the preservation of their ejournals. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a “trigger event” and ensures an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.

“With our offices and servers located in Wellington, which is built on a highly active fault line, we are very aware that the chance of a major earthquake or tsunami occurring is high here relative to most parts of the world” said David Ellis, Publishing Manager. “It is important to us to know that our educational research output and journal archive is safely stored in multiple locations so that should such a catastrophic event occur it would again be available to local and international researchers and other communities of interest.”

CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes NZCER Press’s ejournals, with their coverage of work that supports teachers and learning, into the community’s archive. By archiving with CLOCKSS, NZCER Press has ensured the survival of this research for future generations. We are grateful, as NZCER Press joins the CLOCKSS Archive, for its generous willingness to preserve its ejournals in a way that secures them for the long-term good of scholars worldwide.”
