The Japan Institute of Heterocyclic Chemistry Preserves with the CLOCKSS Archive

The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has partnered with The Japan Institute of Heterocyclic Chemistry to preserve their e-journal, HETEROCYCLES, in CLOCKSS’s geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. By archiving with CLOCKSS, The Japan Institute of Heterocyclic Chemistry has committed to the preservation of HETEROCYCLES. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a “trigger event” and ensures an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.

CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes The Japan Institute of Heterocyclic Chemistry into the community’s archive. The journal is known for its rapid exchange of research in the key area of chemistry. By archiving with CLOCKSS, The Japan Institute of Heterocyclic Chemistry has ensured that the research published in HETEROCYCLES will remain open access should there be a trigger event, and at the disposal of scholars. CLOCKSS has achieved a rare consensus among libraries and publishers, and we are grateful, as The Japan Institute of Heterocyclic Chemistry joins the CLOCKSS Archive, for its generous willingness to preserve its e-journals and e-books in a way that secures them for the long-term good of scholars worldwide.”

About HETEROCYCLES: Since its inception in 1973 HETEROCYCLES has provided a platform for the rapid exchange of research in the areas of organic, pharmaceutical, analytical, and medicinal chemistry of heterocyclic compounds. In addition to communications, papers, and reviews, a special section of the journal presents newly discovered natural products whose structure has recently been established. http://www.heterocycles.jp
