American Meteorological Society Preserves with the CLOCKSS Archive

The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the American Meteorological Society to preserve their ejournals in CLOCKSS’s geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a “trigger event” and ensures an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.

“The American Meteorological Society takes its role as perpetual steward of its journal content very seriously” said Kenneth F. Heideman, Director of Publications. “CLOCKSS provides a very important supplementary technology for ensuring that all of that content is available and readily accessible to future readers in its original format. The importance of this safeguard cannot be overstated.”

CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes the American Meteorological Society‘s ejournals with their coverage of atmospheric, oceanic, and hydrologic sciences, into the community’s archive. By archiving with CLOCKSS, the American Meteorological Society has ensured that the scholarship in their publications will continue to remain widely available to the academic community in the future.”
