American Society for Microbiology Preserves Works with the CLOCKSS Archive

The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Press to preserve their eperiodicals EcoSal Plus and Microbiology Spectrum and ebooks collections in CLOCKSS’s geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a “trigger event” and ensures an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.

“Ensuring uninterrupted access to our hundreds of scholarly ebooks and our two new eperiodicals with CLOCKSS was a priority. I am pleased to be working with this not-for-profit preservation effort,” said Christine Charlip, Director of ASM Press.

CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes the American Society for Microbiology’s eperiodicals and ebooks with their coverage of microbiological sciences into the community’s archive. By archiving with CLOCKSS, the American Society for Microbiology has ensured that the scholarship in their publications will be available for a worldwide audience now and in the future in a manner that secures them for the long-term good of scholars.”
