The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Momentum Press to preserve their e-books in CLOCKSS’s geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. By archiving with CLOCKSS, Momentum Press has committed to the preservation of their e-books. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a “trigger event” and ensures an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.
“It is critical for Momentum Press that its invaluable engineering and scientific content be safely archived for us–and our authors, customers, and readers,” said Joel Stein, Publisher of Momentum Press. “We are extremely pleased to be working with CLOCKSS in safeguarding our most valuable assets,” he added.
CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes Momentum Press’s e-books into the community’s archive. We are delighted to include the original scientific and engineering content published in their publications. CLOCKSS has achieved a rare consensus among libraries and publishers, and we are grateful, as Momentum Press joins the CLOCKSS Archive, for its generous willingness to preserve its e-journals and e-books in a way that secures them for the long-term good of scholars worldwide.”
About Momentum Press: Momentum Press was founded in 2007 on the principle of providing the very best information and knowledge on today’s advancements in science, engineering, and applied technology. Its aim is to reach practitioners, researchers, educational faculty, and students in engineering, science, and industry with both traditional print media as well as new, innovative, electronically delivered content. Momentum Press intends to reach those goals by offering its authors and customers a happy alternative to the often impersonal publishing environment so often encountered among today’s ever-larger media conglomerates. http://www.momentumpress.net
