The Laser Institute of America Preserves with the CLOCKSS Archive

The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has partnered with The Laser Institute of America to preserve their e-publications in CLOCKSS’s geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. By archiving with CLOCKSS, The Laser Institute of America has committed to the preservation of their e-publications. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a “trigger event” and ensures an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.

“We are pleased that an organization like CLOCKSS exists. By partnering with CLOCKSS we can ensure that valuable laser, laser applications and laser safety content will be preserved,” states Peter Baker, Executive Director, Laser Institute of America.

CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes The Laser Institute of America’s e-publications into the community’s archive. By archiving with CLOCKSS, they have ensured that their publications focusing on the application of lasers and safety will continue to be available in the future, as well as now. CLOCKSS has achieved a rare consensus among libraries and publishers, and we are grateful, as The Laser Institute of America joins the CLOCKSS Archive, for its generous willingness to preserve its e-publications in a way that secures them for the long-term good of scholars worldwide.”
