The CLOCKSS Archive is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists to preserve their ejournals in CLOCKSS’s geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a “trigger event” and ensures an author’s work will be maximally accessible and useful over time.
“Researchers and practitioners in applied geophysics do work essential to the advancement of mankind, and by partnering with CLOCKSS, SEG is ensuring that reports of it will be forever available,” said SEG Publications Director Ted Bakamjian. “SEG’s participation in CLOCKSS is a means by which the Society’s mission of advancing applied geophysics can endure.”
CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, “The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes SEG’s ejournals, with their coverage of the science of geophysics and geophysical research, into the community’s archive. By archiving with CLOCKSS, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists has ensured that the scholarship in their publications will continue to remain widely available to the academic community in the future.”
